As with previous years, the course remains a secret until the evening before the race starts, and is announced during the pre-race briefing. For the Adventure Quest 2007, participants will accept the challenge of navigating through route on foot and be required to carry out tasks involving possibly the following disciplines:
1. Running/Hiking (both Road and Trail Running) |
2. Orienteering (Map Navigation) |
3. Kayaking |
4. Rappelling (aka Abseiling) |
5. Rock Wall Climbing |
6. Mountain Biking |
7. Team Biathlon (2 Bike, 2 Run) |
8. Archery |
9. Mystery Test (Mental Challenge - Problem Solving Tests) |
All teams will complete the same route, which will be separated into 3 legs. For the Boys Relay Team, the team will be split into 3 groups, each group having to complete 1 leg of the course.
Training session
There will be no training session on Saturday ( 10.3.07) and Tuesday (13.03.07). This is not only to give everyone time to finish their homework, but also to let you all prepare for the final mock race+ camp. Everyone is encouraged to purchase a hydration pack during the holidays.
Training will start of the first week, tuesday, when the school reopens. We will most likely do other exercises beside our routine run. I hope everyone will be ready for the real AQ on 31st March.
May the force be with you.
